This Lemon Economy

Hi, everyone. I'm sure you all are feeling a little unsettled about the bloodletting in the American economy right now - if your country hasn't felt the pinch yet, then you are probably wondering if and when you will be swept into the fray.

The U.S. market didn't react emotionally to the election of Barack Obama as well as I expected. Instead, it continued to drop on fears of what the media is calling a "deep and wide recession" on the horizon.

The failure of the markets to respond with exuberance over the new "climate of change" only underscores the seriousness of the statistical indicators of recession.

Unemployment is rising, inventory turnover is dropping so far that even stalwart industry leaders like GM Motors are sending out SOS signals that they are "running out of money," and banks are refusing to lend.

Consumers are taking their cues from these institutions, and spending is woefully down just in time for Christmas.

Still, I am one investor who is keeping the faith. I don't doubt that we are in an economic contraction right now, but history shows that contractions and recessions are part of a normal business cycle that always bottoms out and then shifts to a period of new recovery and expansion, where we start to prosper all over again.

It may seem to be an impossible journey to get back to the good times, but memories are fleeting - and ideological and political shifts can be a powerful elixir for financial wounds.

Once we see that we are no longer sackled by the policies of the outgoing U.S. Administration that got us into this crisis, we will start to have faith in the promise of a new political regime - and our confidence will slowly be restored. That movement is not far away, and I look forward to this upcoming period of renewed optimism.

In the meantime, each of you no doubt signed on to the Power Wealth Creation newsletter because you are looking for income streams that are recession proof.

Finding Up Sides to The Downturn

The News & Views Center picked up an inspiring article from Ireland on how important confidence is to weather recession woes. Recommended Business Opportunities

OK, here's the part of the Newsletter you've been waiting for.

For the first time on this website, I am taking my business portfolio off of the shelf and opening it wide for everyone to see (well, maybe not everyone, this is the loyal subscriber Newsletter, after all!).

The Selection Process

How did I select these three opportunities for this article?
