What is prosperity to you? Is it paying your bills on time, meeting your children's college tuition requirements, succeeding in retiring early, or all of these things and more? The answer to the question what is prosperity is different from person to person.

If you define prosperity by your income level, the collective consciousness is ruthlessly consistent in how it answers your question:

Why Prosperity Hides from Us. Many people seek the approval of individuals or small groups to judge their societal value and how much money they deserve to make. Continuing down this road deprives them of their true potential.

You may be looking to specific people in your life – your bosses, your parents, mentors or sponsors – to help you with your wealth creation plans, possibly even on autopilot.

But these people can only serve as surrogates to the real source of wealth generation – the collective consciousness. They are handing down to you some portion of the value that has been assigned to their contribution to society (in which you may participate indirectly – but you are “left out of the loop” with the collective consciousness). That is an inefficient wealth building strategy.

Maybe for some people it's a good one, though -- some parents and bosses can be quite generous!

But if your are starting to ask yourself questions like what is prosperity? you are probably trying to attract more of it into your life. So you are ready for the newsflash that this site offers: to grow in prosperity, you should be seeking something much greater than approval from your boss, your family or your community.

What's Hard to Swallow? It may seem strange to us that income is tied to value to society, because we see people all of the time who make tons of money and whose contributions don’t necessarily advance society.

Athletes, actors, recording artists, some of questionable talent - how are they raking in the cash when society could move along very well without them?

Being in the celebrity business is an example of how people have been able to tap into the collective consciousness in an entrepreneurial way. Celebrities are able to leverage the immense economic value assigned to the media and carve out a personal niche within it.

Like with the top business executives, top celebrities make their salaries available to the media and give the public full opportunity to analyze that information and react by either supporting or boycotting their projects.

In the same way, shareholders are free to abandon their investments of pubic companies when they read the public proxy statements and come to the conclusion that business executives are too highly compensated.

The conscience collective has spoken.
